After over a hundred years of history of Mavilla photographers, the excellence of photographic engraving is no longer enough for Silvio, the third of four generations.

With the advent of digital techniques, with the knowledge of the history of art and the teaching of Photography Technique at the Academy of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria for more than thirty years, the artist photographer turns into a "photopictoric artist ”, Noting in the disintegration of the photographic lines in the pictorial ones, the“ Spirit of the image ”is revealed in the work. Spirit that never made painting go down with the advent of photography.

Silvio Mavilla is now considered one of the first avant-gardists of digital photo painting in Reggio Calabria which in the future will develop more and more, given his ability to adapt to any type of decoration.

The ductility of these works allows, as in art graphics, to print them in a limited edition and also to present them in large formats.

The materials used for the realization of the works are of high quality (colors and canvases) in order to guarantee and preserve them over time.
